Day in the Life

Site Prep & Substrate Assessment (8:00–10:00 AM)

Arrive at a residential renovation. Assess existing substrate, check moisture levels with meters, remove old flooring if required. Discuss room conditions with homeowner. Plan layout to minimize visible seams and account for room traffic patterns.

Installation & Finishing (10:00 AM–5:00 PM)

Install new flooring: measure and mark, lay adhesive or fasteners, position planks/tiles carefully, ensure tight seams. Trim edges with precision, install baseboards, perform final cleanup. Manage dust and protect surrounding areas. Manage customer expectations during installation.

Large-Area Layout & Prep (6:00–9:00 AM)

Arrive at a commercial office build-out. Coordinate with general contractor on sequencing. Assess thousands of square feet of subfloor. Establish layout marks for LVP/tile grids. Identify obstacles (columns, utilities) and plan detailed installation maps.

High-Volume Installation (9:00 AM–5:00 PM)

Execute fast-paced installation on commercial-grade materials. Work with crew to maintain consistency and speed. Quality control at every step ensures floor meets commercial durability standards. Manage sub-contractor coordination and material staging.

Substrate Testing & Compliance (7:00–9:00 AM)

Assess healthcare facility floors for moisture, slope, and surface preparation. Verify compliance with infection control standards. Plan installation to minimize dust and disruption to patients/operations. Coordinate with facilities and nursing staff.

Specialized Installation (9:00 AM–5:00 PM)

Install specialized flooring (seamless epoxy, antimicrobial resilient, slip-resistant). Maintain sterile protocols during installation. Final cleaning and documentation of installation methods for facility records.
